Midget Head COACH

Kayla York

I am so excited to return to the Junior Rhinos as head coach for another season of sideline cheer! This will be my second year as head coach and my third year coaching overall. I truly love our Rhino community and the positive impact it has had on our athletes and families. Since joining the Rhinos program, my coaching staff and I have earned multiple first-place wins, including two JAMZ National Championship titles. I am passionate about creating a positive, supportive environment where athletes can grow, build confidence, and thrive both on and off the mat. I can’t wait to see what we accomplish together this upcoming season!

I’m so thrilled to return to the Jr. Rhino Cheer & Football family and continue my passion of encouraging and facilitating all the young athletes as they are growing confidence, teamwork, and developing strong skills throughout cheer as well as their daily life and personal character. I have a strong sense of pride to consistently inspire each athlete to believe in themselves, their teammates, their family, as well as their community. As a mom of two Jr Rhino Cheerleaders and a Jr Rhino Football player, I'm no stranger to the Rhino family and truly love and believe in the program and the extraordinary support that surrounds all the athletes and their families.

I’m so excited to be returning for another season as head coach of our Pee Wee cheer team, alongside an incredible group of assistant coaches who share my passion and enthusiasm. This will be my third year coaching with the Jr. Rhinos and my fourth year overall in youth cheer.

Together, our coaching team has led our athletes to multiple first-place and Grand Champion titles, including National Champion and National Level Champion honors for the past two consecutive seasons. I’m incredibly proud of the hard work, dedication, and growth these girls show each year.

While safety is always my top priority, my coaching philosophy centers on creating a positive, supportive environment where every athlete feels encouraged, confident, and empowered, both on and off the mat.

Outside of cheer, I work in personnel for the State and live in Lincoln with my husband of 13 years and our two wonderful children.

MASCOT HEAD COACH

Lavette Cole

I’m so excited to be returning for my second year as the Mascots Head Coach as well as stepping into my new role as the 8U STUNT Head Coach this season! Cheer has been a huge part of my life when I started in middle school and continued all the way through college, and my love for the sport has truly never left.

Now, as a mom of four very active kiddos (one in cheer and one in football), I feel incredibly lucky to bring that passion full circle and share it with our athletes. One of my favorite cheer memories was performing on the field, feeling the energy of the crowd and the strong connection with my team. That confidence, teamwork, and joy is exactly what I hope to continue to pass on to our Mascots and 8U STUNT athletes.

At these ages, it’s all about building confidence, learning fundamentals, and having fun in a safe, supportive, and positive environment. Whether it’s introducing the basics of cheer or helping our 8U athletes grow their skills and teamwork in STUNT, my goal is to make every athlete feel encouraged, capable, and proud of themselves.

I’m looking forward to an unforgettable season filled with growth, smiles, and lots of cheer. Let’s make some amazing memories together. Go Rhinos!
